![]() When David returns home, Adele has cooked him a big dinner. Louise reminds him about Adele, but he tells her that she doesn’t know Adele. He calls her a bright woman and that she shines. ![]() David asks her why she let him in and why she hasn’t moved on from her ex. Louise reminds him that they can’t be a thing. Louise feels bad for what happened, but David says he doesn’t feel alone anymore. David heads to Louise’s place, againīehind Her Eyes episode 3 confirms that David and Louise cannot help themselves their actions do not match their words.Īfter work, David goes to Louise’s place again. This has been a repetitive technique now, and one Adele advises Louise to use to rid her night terrors - pinch your cheeks, count fingers and open a door. In the present day, Adele counts her fingers while laying on her bed. Rob then states he is bored of counting his fingers every day another reference to the technique of “opening the door” in the notebook. She’s worried David will be mad for smoking pot, but Rob tells her to keep it a secret. I'm pouring one out for what could have been.A flashback shows Rob and Adele having a spliff outside. That one twist makes what could have been a fascinating relationship thriller (I thought we were going down the polygamy route!) become a surreal mess. To quote the iconic Anna Shay from Netflix's Bling Empire, "There ain't no d*ck that good."īetween David having no idea who he's been married to and having sex with for years and Adele being killed by the best friend she thought of as family so soon after losing her parents to a house fire, it's just too much. But to have his character kill two women and invade their bodies so he can have a relationship with a straight man is another choice that could have done with a bit more thinking in the drafts. He's selfish, cruel, and ruthless, a character who is always fun to hate when they're doing whatever to get what they want. He's an addict and poor - he longs for the luxury that he sees Adele living in, although he disregards the reality of how she came upon that wealth. Speaking of Rob, what a damn mess! I would have loved to have Rob as a fully living member of the cast, because his character is one of the most intriguing. The revelation leads to the big twist: Adele is really Rob, who switched bodies with her through the art of lucid dreaming, a skill that Adele mastered after having suffered from night terrors. Near the end of the series, Louise finds herself in Adele's crosshairs when her affair with David is discovered. As Louise attempts to unravel the mystery that is Adele and David's union, she finds solace in the lucid dreaming she learns from the journal of Adele's late friend Rob. Things take a turn for the worse when Louise and David stop resisting their attraction to one another and start an affair, further entangling the mother of one in David's estranged marriage. Though the two are instantly attracted to one another, it goes crashing when Louise learns that not only is David married, but he's also her boss! David's wife, Adele (Eve Hewson), seems eager for friendship, and even though she's still attracted to the woman's husband, Louise strikes up a secretive friendship with her. Louise (played by Simona Brown), a single mother looking to mingle, bumps into the handsome David (Tom Bateman) after being ghosted on a date. To be fair, the series hints at the big twist throughout each episode. It's an ending that manages to turn the entire story on its head and does justice for none of the characters - especially not the woman at the center of it all. ![]() The show keeps the book's most vital plot points, which unfortunately includes the story's twisted finale. If there's one compliment we could give the show, it's that it's a faithful remake of the book, aside from some minute details that don't alter the story too much. If you haven't already watched Behind Her Eyes, Netflix's adaptation of Sarah Pinborough's 2018 novel, then I recommend you turn back now, because I'm about to spoil the hell out of the big "twist" at the end of the series.
